Forecast Discussion: Current conditions: Much cooler than recent days this Friday afternoon as a slow moving cold front sags slowly to the south. A large area of high pressure over the Great Lakes will slowly move eastward, bringing pleasantly cool conditions and good air quality over the weekend. *** Saturday's forecast: Sunshine with a few clouds Saturday with a pleasant afternoon. The clean air mass will keep ozone and PM2.5 formation to a minimum. *** Sunday's forecast: Clouds and some sunshine Sunday. A light shower cannot be ruled out late in the day, and with a strong onshore flow, air quality will continue to be rather good. *** Monday's forecast: Periods of clouds and sunshine with another pleasant day to start the new work week. A continued east to southeasterly flow will maintain clean air conditions. *** Extended forecast: Our weather will turn more unsettled later Tuesday into Wednesday as an area of low pressure moves just east of the Delmarva peninsula, and a cold front slowly approaches from the Midwest. The chances for showers will increase during the mid week period, but with air quality remaining good.---McAuliffe
