Forecast Discussion: Current conditions: Light winds and limited mixing this Tuesday afternoon have brought fine particulate concentrations well into the moderate range. Tonight, clouds will roll back in as low temperatures fall back into the upper 30s, and air quality will remain moderate. *** Wednesday's forecast: Mixing will increase during the day Wednesday, and PM2.5 values will be lower, but will stay in the lower moderate range. Turning out mostly clear and seasonably cold Wednesday night. *** Extended forecast: High pressure will keep us dry for Thursday, but lighter winds may send fine particulate back into the moderate range again. The next cold front comes through later on Friday with clouds and a couple of showers. Increasing low level winds in the vicinity of the front will improve air quality to the good range. The front will then stall just south of the Mason and Dixon line Saturday and low pressure will move along it, bringing us a cold rain Saturday afternoon and night. A new area of high pressure builds in Sunday into Monday, with temperatures remaining below normal, but with good air quality.---McAuliffe
