Forecast Discussion: Thursday, as a deep low pressure system slowly approaches from the west, light southeasterly winds will develop, gradually transporting pollutants into the Sacramento region. As a result, particle levels will be Moderate. Friday, southeasterly winds will continue to bring regional pollutants into the Sacramento area through the morning hours. However, winds will strengthen midday, increasing mixing and dispersing pollutants. Therefore, particle levels will be low-Moderate. Saturday, as the low pressure system moves into northern California, rain showers and gusty south-southeasterly winds will effectively disperse pollutants, lowering particle levels to Good. |
