Forecast Discussion: Clouds will be on the increase during the day Friday, leading to late afternoon showers and thunderstorms across the region. Despite the increase in cloud coverage, plenty of warmth and enough breaks of sunshine will push ozone levels into the Moderate along the I-95 corridor. Good air quality is expected elsewhere. Cleaner, drier conditions return to the region Saturday. Ozone levels are expected to stay elevated, thanks to plentiful sunshine and continued warm temperatures. Expect generally low Moderate AQI values with the exception of western Maryland. High pressure will begin to build off the Atlantic coast for Sunday. Weaker winds, along with continued ample sunshine and warm temperatures will allow ozone levels to rise. Expect generally Moderate AQI values across the state. –MDE
