AQI: Good (0 - 50) AQI: Good (0 - 50)
Air quality is considered satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
AQI: Moderate (51 - 100) AQI: Moderate (51 - 100)
Air quality is acceptable; however, for some pollutants there may be a moderate health concern for a very small number of people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (101 - 150) AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (101 - 150)
Although general public is not likely to be affected at this AQI range, people with lung disease, older adults and children are at a greater risk from exposure to ozone, whereas persons with heart and lung disease, older adults and children are at greater risk from the presence of particles in the air.
AQI: Unhealthy (151 - 200) AQI: Unhealthy (151 - 200)
Everyone may begin to experience health effects members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.

Forecast Discussion: Saturday, light to moderate southwesterly to westerly winds will continue to transport Saharan dust into Louisiana, especially in the southern half of the state. This dust will increase particle concentrations. Furthermore, mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will aid ozone formation. As a result, despite hot and humid conditions aiding mixing each day, AQI levels will be Moderate in most locations. Sunday and Monday, a weak front will approach and move into the northern part of Louisiana, shifting winds to northwesterly and transporting a cleaner air mass into the state and lowering particle concentrations. In the southern part of Louisiana, west-southwesterly winds will transport Saharan dust into the region. In addition, sunny skies and continued warm temperatures statewide will enhance ozone formation, leading to Good to Moderate AQI levels statewide on both days.
