Forecast Discussion: Current Conditions: As of 2 PM on Tuesday, partly cloudy skies prevail over the region as an area of high pressure continues to dominate our weather. Right now, light southerly winds are helping to drive temperatures through the 70s. It is the fairly dry air mass (with dewpoints hovering in the mid 50s) that is controlling how high ozone levels rise today. In fact, ozone concentrations are currently hovering in the good range. Expect a slight degradation in the air quality tomorrow as even warmer air moves into the region. *** Wednesday's Forecast: On Wednesday, a mix of sun and clouds will continue to persist over the region as the area of high pressure, which was directly overhead of the Commonwealth on Tuesday, begins to jog eastward. The return flow on the backside of the high will be out of the south, allowing temperatures to climb into the 80s. The combination of the warm temperatures and slightly increasing dewpoint temperatures (readings should rise to near 60 by the afternoon) will force ozone to increase to near the good / moderate threshold. --Nolan
