Forecast Discussion: Monday, September 16, 2019: The warm late summer return to the Upper Midwest has arrived and will continue to some degree for much of the week. Today, partly cloudy skies across the state as clouds stream in from the southwest with the 85 plus degree temperatures and dew points into the 60s/low 70s over much of the state. The North Shore, with light east winds, to hold into the upper 60s/low 70s. Air quality is Green (good) across the state. Tuesday, a chance for scattered showers/thunderstorms from west to east over the state as a weak disturbance and warm/humid conditions dominate Minnesota's weather. AQI values to climb a bit; however, Green conditions statewide as breezy conditions and precipitation help mix the atmosphere. A cold front to move across the state on Wednesday with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Thursday will bring a quick return to southerly winds and warm temperatures with highs into the low 80s south/mid to upper 70s north. Another cold front to approach the state on Friday with increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms. Green air quality conditions to continue Wednesday through Friday.
