Forecast Discussion: Monday, as a weak cold front moves through Louisiana, increasing clouds will reduce ozone formation, and scattered thunderstorms will enhance atmospheric mixing. In addition, light to moderate north-northeasterly winds behind the front will disperse pollutants. As a result, AQI levels will be Good in most cities. Tuesday and Wednesday, partly to mostly sunny skies will increase ozone production in Louisiana. However, light to moderate northerly winds will continue to disperse pollutants and bring clean air into the region, leading to Good to low-Moderate AQI levels on both days.
