Forecast Discussion: Saturday is a Spare The Air Day in the Sacramento region. Sunny skies and triple-digit temperatures will increase the production of ground-level ozone in the Sacramento area. In addition, lingering smoke from the Soberanes Fire in Monterey County will continue to impact the Sacramento region, enhancing ozone formation. As a result, ozone levels will be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Sunday and Monday, light to moderate onshore winds will aid pollutant dispersion. However, warm temperatures will continue to support ozone formation. These conditions, combined with pollutant carryover from previous days, will keep ozone levels Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups on both days.
