AQI: Good (0 - 50) AQI: Good (0 - 50)
Air quality is considered satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
AQI: Moderate (51 - 100) AQI: Moderate (51 - 100)
Air quality is acceptable; however, for some pollutants there may be a moderate health concern for a very small number of people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (101 - 150) AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (101 - 150)
Although general public is not likely to be affected at this AQI range, people with lung disease, older adults and children are at a greater risk from exposure to ozone, whereas persons with heart and lung disease, older adults and children are at greater risk from the presence of particles in the air.
AQI: Unhealthy (151 - 200) AQI: Unhealthy (151 - 200)
Everyone may begin to experience health effects members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.

Forecast Discussion: FORECAST SUMMARY: Friday, July 28th, 2017 through Monday, July 31st, 2017 Ozone: Ozone concentrations will be mostly Good Friday and Saturday with more widespread Moderate levels Sunday into Monday. PM-2.5: 24-hour Fine Particulate concentrations will be mostly Good through Sunday with a mix of Good and Moderate Monday. FORECAST DISCUSSION: Aside from isolated showers/storms Friday afternoon the forecast into early next week will be dry with seasonable temperatures. This can be attributed to high pressure positioned just west of the state. Plenty of sunshine can be expected through Monday. Stronger northerly winds both at the surface and upper levels will be in place Friday and Saturday; however, winds weaken Sunday into Monday. As for air pollution levels, the stronger northerly winds will keep both ozone and fine particulate Good Friday and Saturday. Wind speeds decrease Sunday and Monday but the flow remains northerly. With plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures I feel ozone may start creeping up Sunday, continuing into Monday as we remain under the same air mass for another day. Upper level temperatures do not increase significantly early next week and the flow remains northerly. Because of this I’m don’t feel there is a good chance for a significant increase in ozone early next week. There is a small chance for a USG reading by Monday in the southwest or southeast; otherwise, Ozone Sunday and Monday will be Good to Moderate; as will fine particulate. EXTENDED FORECAST: Extended forecast models keep high pressure over the state into Tuesday with a frontal boundary bringing chances for showers back into the forecast mid-week. Pollution levels will likely be closer to Moderate Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecast updated by Stephanie Hengesbach: Friday, July 28th, 2017 Next forecast update: Monday, July 31st, 2017
