Forecast Discussion: After a multi-day stretch of mid-summer heat and humidity, the weekend will be much more pleasant and seasonable across the State of Delaware. A cold front will move through the state late Friday night, ushering in a much cooler and less humid air mass for Saturday. Temperatures will drop to slightly below average for this time of year. The arrival of this clean and cool air will allow ozone and particles to return to the Good range. Clouds will increase on Sunday, knocking temperatures down a bit further. Clean onshore winds will allow Good air quality to persist. Monday will be cloudy and wet, with periods of heavy rain, courtesy of a slow moving cold front approaching from the west. Ozone and particles will decrease to the low end of the Good range. **Extended Forecast: The sun will return on Tuesday as weak high pressure moves over the Mid-Atlantic region. With a clean air mass in place and seasonable temperatures, Good air quality will continue. -Huff/Enlow
