Forecast Discussion: It will a dreary but slightly cooler weekend for the State of Delaware. Temperatures will be seasonable, which will be a relief after the recent extended heat wave, but humidity will persist at uncomfortable levels. A frontal boundary will remain stalled to the south of the state through the weekend, which will keep the weather unsettled. On Saturday, clouds and thunderstorms will develop in the afternoon, with periods of heavy rain possible. Cloudy skies and precipitation will limit ozone and particles to the Good range. Another round of heavy rain is expected Sunday morning, with scattered thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Southeasterly surface winds will usher clean, maritime air into the state. Ozone and particles both fall slightly lower into the Good range as a result. There may be some breaks of sunshine on Monday, but scattered afternoon thunderstorms will limit ozone to the Good/Moderate threshold, while particles will remain in the Good range. **Extended Forecast: Scattered afternoon thunderstorms are still a possibility across the state on Tuesday, but in general, mostly sunny skies will allow ozone to climb into the low Moderate range. Particles will linger in the Good range due to decreasing humidity. -Brown/Huff
