Forecast Discussion: Wednesday, August 23rd – The hazy skies and hot temperatures will be replaced by increasingly cloudy skies as a cold front approaches the region, bringing a chance of showers overnight and cooler temperatures on Thursday along with breezy gusting winds as things clear out that afternoon. The increased winds may bring additional wildfire smoke (PM-2.5) from fires in Washington and Oregon along with a little more dust (PM-10) before conditions improve later on Thursday. Depending on the winds and fire activity, air quality could reach the upper half of the AQI-Moderate range at times on Wednesday and Thursday. /MCKAY
