Forecast Discussion: 5/25 - An Ozone Action Day has been declared! Ozone is forecast to reach the unhealthy for sensitive groups category in portions of New Jersey due to abundant sunshine, southwest winds and warm temperatures. Sensitive individuals including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the afternoon and early evening hours. In addition levels of fine particulates are forecast to reach the moderate category in urban areas. 5/26 - Moderate air quality is forecast state-wide as early sunshine leads to increasing clouds and scattered showers/thunderstorms. 5/27 - Good air quality is expected to return on Sunday with cloudy skies, periods of rain, and an on-shore flow. 5/28 - Partly cloudy skies, temperatures in the mid-70s, and an on-shore flow will allow air quality to remain in the good category for Memorial Day. 5/29 - Good air quality is forecast on Tuesday with partly sunny skies and northerly winds.
