Forecast Discussion: We should see all zones finish at CODE GREEN for ground-level ozone this Saturday afternoon. The front that when through South Carolina Friday evening has stalled and should dissipate. Tropical Storm Humberto is just to the northeast of the Bahamas and while it is currently not a threat to making landfall in the southeast United States, its northeast winds should bring clean, maritime air to the eastern 2/3rds of South Carolina on Sunday. Some subsidence should occur on the outer periphery of the storm, which should lead to mostly sunny skies in the Catawba and Upstate regions and a CODE YELLOW has been forecast for both forecast zones where sunshine is possible along with a lighter wind profile to enhance ozone development. The other forecast zones should see more clouds and breezy conditions and thus, they should be at CODE GREEN on Sunday.
