Forecast Discussion: Weak high pressure currently residing over the Carolinas has kept the atmosphere sunny and hot over the Triad to allow air quality levels to approach the middle to upper Code YELLOW range this afternoon. The offshore Bermuda ridge will eventually take hold over the state tomorrow, but conditions may remain fairly hot and stagnant into the early afternoon. With that said, ozone levels may creep up to the upper end of the Code YELLOW range prior to the increase in low-level dispersion by the afternoon and early evening. The Triad will continue to remain in this hot and humid regime Wednesday and Thursday with a minor chance of an isolated shower/storm each afternoon. With that said, Code YELLOW air quality levels are expected through the end of the week. (Payne)
