Forecast Discussion: FORECAST SUMMARY: Friday, April 18th, 2014 through Monday, April 21st, 2014 PM-2.5: 24-hour concentrations are expected to range between Good and Moderate through the period. FORECAST DISCUSSION: High pressure will build across the state Friday as a weak front exits eastern areas. This high will bring quiet conditions and seasonable temperatures for most of the weekend. A weak boundary across the northern portion of the state could bring a chance for rain on Easter Sunday, but most areas will remain dry. A larger chance for rain moves in Monday as a front moves across the state. As for air quality, light northerly winds Friday will keep fine particulate mostly Good. As the high moves overhead, then east of the state, winds switch to a southerly flow. This will allow fine particulate to climb to mostly Moderate levels Saturday and Sunday. EXTENDED FORECAST: A frontal boundary will move across the state Monday; however, the winds with the system are not strong. Fine particulate will likely remain mostly Moderate. Stronger northerly winds develop behind this system Tuesday, improving air quality levels.
