Forecast Discussion: Wednesday will be a day of high Moderate ozone in the metropolitan areas. Temperatures in the low 90s ? F, mostly sunny skies, light surface winds, and carry-over of ozone from Tuesday will all be important factors contributing to the increased ozone levels. Particles will also reach well into the Moderate range as the humidity and stagnant conditions continue. A weak cold front will move through the state on Thursday, increasing cloud cover in the afternoon and limiting ozone to the low Moderate range for most locations. Particle concentrations statewide will remain in the Moderate range as dew points climb into the 70s ? F. Friday will see ozone hovering around the Good/Moderate threshold as the front stalls just east of the state and surface winds shift westerly, containing Moderate ozone to the I-95 Corridor. Particles will fall to the Good/Moderate threshold as dew points drop and a cleaner air mass builds into the state. - MDE/PSAQFO
