Forecast Discussion: A warming trend will begin on Sunday and continue through next week. On Sunday, ozone will rise into the Moderate range under strong late May sun and recirculating transport aloft. Particle concentrations will also rise but remain in the Good range in the dry and relatively clean air mass. Another day of full afternoon sun and strong subsidence on Memorial Day will push ozone to the mid-to-upper Moderate range. Particles will respond to rising humidity by reaching the low Moderate range at most locations. On Tuesday, the chance for more onshore (cleaner) flow and increasing afternoon cloud cover will limit rising ozone, but concentrations will remain in the Moderate range. Particles will also linger in the low Moderate range. - MDE/PSAQFO
