Forecast Discussion: Saturday and Sunday, moderate southerly winds will become breezy and shift to southwesterly as a cold front approaches Louisiana from the northwest, helping to disperse pollutants. Furthermore, partly to mostly cloudy skies will limit ozone formation and scattered showers and thunderstorms will enhance atmospheric mixing. As a result, AQI levels will be Good statewide on both days. Monday, moderate northwesterly winds behind the departing cold front will help to disperse pollutants across Louisiana. However, partly to mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will aid ozone formation. Therefore, AQI levels will be low-Moderate in Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, New Orleans, and Shreveport.
