Forecast Discussion: Thursday, mostly sunny skies will enhance ozone formation, and regional agricultural fires will aid particle production in Louisiana. Therefore, despite a cold front moving through the state late in the day and dispersing some pollutants, AQI levels will be Good to low-Moderate statewide. Friday, surface high pressure over the Great Lakes will generate light to moderate northeasterly winds in Louisiana, effectively dispersing pollutants and yielding Good AQI levels statewide. Saturday, northeasterly winds will diminish, inhibiting pollutant dispersion. However, cloudy skies will limit ozone formation. As a result, AQI levels will be Good to low-Moderate for particles across Louisiana.
