Forecast Discussion: Air quality forecast northern Indiana issued Monday, February 23, 2015 for Tuesday, February 24 - Friday, February 27. Expect generally good air quality for the period Tuesday through Thursday across northern Indiana with another arctic cold front moving through northern Indiana on Wednesday morning. Expect fine particulate (PM2.5) readings to increase some on Tuesday but will keep forecast at good air quality for now. Beginning Friday PM2.5 concentrations will increase as surface high pressure moves across central Indiana. With the surface high pressure nearby, wind speeds will be light and a strong temperature inversion will develop especially overnight and during the morning hours. Expect moderate PM2.5 concentrations to continue through the weekend. The next air quality forecast update will be on Monday.
