Forecast Discussion: Air quality forecast northern Indiana issued Monday, September 22, 2014 for Tuesday, September 23 - Thursday, September 25. Expect good air quality for ozone through the forecast period with ozone potentially reaching moderate levels by the weekend as a gradual warming trend will occur during the week and into the weekend. Fine particulates (PM2.5) will reach moderate levels by Wednesday with continued moderate air quality for PM2.5 on Thursday as wind speeds will be very light on Wednesday/Thursday and the east southeast to south southeast wind direction especially by Thursday will also be favorable for an increase in PM2.5 concentrations across all regions of northern Indiana. The next air quality forecast update will be on Thursday. Air quality forecast provided by IDEM, Office of Air Quality.
