Forecast Discussion: Air quality forecast northern Indiana issued Thursday, July 31, 2014 for Friday, August 1 - Monday, August 4. Expect moderate air quality for fine particulates (PM2.5) for the period Friday through Monday for the northwest, the north central, and the northeast Indiana regions. Ozone concentrations will also increase during the period with ozone concentrations expected to reach moderate levels in the northwest Indiana region by Sunday and the north central and northeast Indiana regions by Monday. A gradual warming trend begins across northern Indiana on Friday and continues through the weekend with high temperatures reaching the low to middle 80 by Sunday and Monday. A period of showers and thunderstorms on Friday afternoon/evening across at least parts of northern Indiana is expected, but not anticipating a region wide rain/storm event.
