Forecast Discussion: Tuesday, light and variable winds will limit pollutant dispersion throughout Louisiana. In addition, partly to mostly sunny skies will enhance ozone formation in the southeastern portion of the state. These conditions will lead to mid- to high-Moderate AQI levels in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Throughout the rest of the state, scattered thunderstorms will enhance mixing and limit ozone formation, leading to Good to low-Moderate AQI levels. Wednesday and Thursday, light winds will continue to limit pollutant dispersion across Louisiana. However, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will reduce ozone formation, yielding Good to low-Moderate AQI levels statewide on both days.
