Forecast Discussion: Monday, a cold frontal passage will generate moderate and gusty northwesterly winds throughout Louisiana, effectively dispersing pollutants and transporting a clean, dry air mass into the state. As a result, AQI levels will be Good in most cities. Tuesday, as another cold front gradually passes through Louisiana, moderate northwesterly winds will continue to keep the lower levels of the atmosphere well mixed, yielding Good AQI levels statewide. Wednesday, weak surface high pressure will move over the region, shifting winds to southerly and reducing atmospheric mixing. However, pollutant carryover from Monday and Tuesday will be low. Therefore, AQI levels will be Good in most cities.
