Forecast Discussion: Saturday through Monday, a strong upper-level ridge of high pressure over Louisiana will reduce atmospheric mixing and produce mostly sunny skies, enhancing the formation of ground-level ozone. Furthermore, surface high pressure persisting over southeastern Louisiana will produce light winds, limiting pollutant dispersion. In addition, Saharan Dust will be transported into the state throughout the weekend. These conditions, combined with pollutant carryover from day to day, will result in Moderate AQI levels statewide on all three days.
