Forecast Discussion: Expansive high pressure over the Upper Midwest US is allowing for mostly sunny skies and rather dry conditions under light northerly winds. Although ozone readings have bumped up from recent days, all zones will likely remain GREEN through this Monday afternoon. The atmosphere begins to change on Tuesday as a mid-level low pressure system moves into the lower Mississippi River Valley. Moisture will move in from the west by late afternoon. With perhaps a light easterly fetch developing mid-to-late afternoon, southern and eastern zones will likely remain clean enough for CODE GREEN ozone conditions. Mid-to-high level moisture will increase during the afternoon in western zones. This should help to keep UV down late and ozone concentrations will likely be held down somewhat as a result. However, residual precursors and local production through early afternoon above a weak low level wind field could allow an Upstate location reach the YELLOW threshold on Tuesday. All other regions should remain CODE GREEN.
