Forecast Discussion: Beginning November 1, and continuing through February 28, the Washoe County Health District Air Quality Management Division (AQMD) will issue daily Burn Code notifications icons to inform residents whether lighting stoves or fireplaces is advisable or allowed. The Know the Code Program applies to residents in southern Washoe County from Washoe Valley to Silver Knolls. To find the current Know the Code Burn Code status, residents in these areas can go online to www.OurCleanAir.com, follow AQMD on Twitter or Facebook, subscribe to EnviroFlash, monitor local television and radio weather forecasts, or call (775) 785-4110. The Burn Code will be updated every day by 3 p.m., or earlier if air quality conditions change.
