Forecast Discussion: Today, light and variable winds will limit pollutant dispersion, and partly sunny skies and warm temperatures will enhance ozone formation, leading to low-Moderate AQI levels. Tomorrow, moderate easterly winds and scattered thunderstorms will develop as a warm front approaches from the south, dispersing pollutants and lowering AQI levels to Good. Sunday, as the warm front moves into Rochester, moderate southerly winds and scattered thunderstorms will keep pollutants dispersed, resulting in Good AQI levels. Monday through Wednesday, as a cold front passes through Rochester and stalls over the Great Lakes, winds will shift to northwesterly, dispersing pollutants and bringing cooler, cleaner air into the region. Furthermore, mostly cloudy skies will reduce ozone formation, leading to Good AQI levels on all three days.
