Forecast Discussion: Wednesday, a cold front will move through Louisiana, producing gusty southwesterly winds and increasing atmospheric mixing. These weather conditions will effectively disperse pollutants, yielding Good AQI levels statewide. Thanksgiving Day, moderate northerly winds behind the departing cold front will disperse pollutants and transport a cool, clean air mass into Louisiana. As a result, AQI levels will remain Good across the state. Friday, calm winds during the overnight and morning hours will reduce pollutant dispersion across Louisiana. However, light to moderate southeasterly winds developing during the afternoon hours will help to disperse pollutants, keeping AQI levels Good throughout the state.
