Forecast Discussion: Current Conditions: As of 2 PM on Thursday, partly sunny skies prevail over the region as an area of high pressure continues to build in over the Great Lakes / Ohio Valley area. This high's clockwise circulation has helped to steer our winds out of the north today, allowing a cooler and drier air mass to build in. As a result, afternoon temperatures are only reaching into the upper 60s to low 70s. Air quality remains low too. The air mass moving in from Canada is relatively clean so ozone levels continue to range in the good category. Expect the good air quality to continue into tomorrow as conditions stay cooler than normal and dry. *** Friday's Forecast: So for Friday, mostly sunny skies will persist over the region as the area of high pressure, which was off to our west on Thursday, will continue to push east, closer to our area. As a result, expect the winds to die down. The light winds coupled with the sunny skies should help temperatures to rise into the 70s. Regardless of temperatures, ozone will have a hard time rising out of the good range thanks to the dry conditions in place across western PA. --Nolan
