Forecast Discussion: Current Conditions: As of 2 PM on Tuesday, mostly cloudy skies prevail over the region as an upper level trough remains entrenched over the Northeastern US. Right now, a surface area of high pressure continues to reside over the Plains / Midwestern US region. The clockwise flow around the high are keeping our winds northwesterly today. Therefore, cooler and drier air continues to infiltrate the region. Temperatures are currently hovering in the low 60s. The cool and dry conditions along with the cloud cover are holding air quality levels back in the good range. Expect the good air quality to linger into tomorrow as a weak disturbance swings through the region. *** Wednesday's Forecast: So for Wednesday, mostly cloudy skies will continue to persist over the region as a disturbance swings through the Great Lakes region and toward our area. By the afternoon, this disturbance will trigger shower development over portions of western PA. Westerly winds will prevail for much of the day. Even with the cloud cover and afternoon rain chances, high temperatures are expected to reach into the upper 60s. The clouds and rain will limit ozone formation to the good range. --Nolan
