Forecast Discussion: Air quality forecast northern Indiana issued Friday, May 24, 2013 for Saturday, May 25 - Tuesday, May 28. The cold front has passed through all of northern Indiana leaving the northern Indiana region in unseasonably cool air and good air quality. Surface high pressure in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan will provide clean, cool air across northern Indiana on Friday and Saturday with a northerly wind direction. Expect the continuation of good air quality for both pollutants on Saturday with an increase in fine particulate (PM2.5) concentrations on Sunday. Expect PM2.5 to reach moderate levels by Sunday and continue with moderate air quality through Tuesday. Ozone concentrations will remain in the good range through Monday, Memorial Day with an increase in ozone levels by Tuesday as a warm front moves through northern Indiana Tuesday morning. The next air quality forecast update will be on Tuesday. Air quality forecast provided by IDEM, Office of Air Quality.
