Forecast Discussion: An Arctic air mass will build into the Mid-Atlantic region on Saturday. It will be sunny, but bitterly cold and windy. Very gusty northwesterly winds will make it feel even colder. Ample ventilation and low atmospheric humidity will promote Good air quality. A cold front will slowly approach Delaware on Sunday. Low pressure will form along the front and bring another round of wintery precipitation to the state late Sunday into Monday morning. Limited mixing and rising humidity on Sunday will push particle concentrations back into the Moderate range. The storm has the potential to drop approximately 4-6 inches of snow on northern Delaware by Monday morning, with rain and sleet mixing in further south and decreasing snow totals. Another Arctic air mass will arrive behind the storm, along with gusty northerly winds on Monday afternoon. The combination of wintery precipitation, strong winds, and the arrival of cold and dry air will return air quality to the Good range. **Extended Forecast: Tuesday will be another bitterly cold day. Although winds will be light, the air mass will be very dry, which should limit particle formation and keep air quality inside of the Good range. -Huff
