Forecast Discussion: Saturday and Sunday, partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid- to upper-80s will support ozone formation in Louisiana. Therefore, despite light to moderate southeasterly winds and scattered showers and thunderstorms dispersing some pollutants, AQI levels will be Moderate across much of the state on both days. Memorial Day, surface high pressure building east of Louisiana will produce light to moderate south-southeasterly winds across the state, dispersing some pollutants. However, partly to mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will continue to enhance ozone formation. Therefore, AQI levels will continue to be Moderate throughout much of Louisiana.
