Forecast Discussion: Wednesday, a weak cold front approaching and slowly moving south across Louisiana will produce partly to mostly cloudy skies throughout the state, reducing ozone formation. However, moisture associated with scattered rain showers, fog, and mist will enhance particle production in some areas, and generally light winds will inhibit pollutant dispersion. These conditions will result in Good to low-Moderate AQI levels across Louisiana. Thursday, surface high pressure will build over Louisiana, generating light winds and reducing pollutant dispersion. However, dry air will limit particle production, keeping AQI levels Good to low-Moderate statewide. Friday, increasing winds out of the north will help to disperse pollutants. However, mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will enhance ozone formation, leading to Good to low-Moderate AQI levels across Louisiana.
