Forecast Discussion: Thursday, as a low-pressure system moves through Louisiana, cloudy skies and rain showers will reduce ozone formation across the state, and winds shifting to northwesterly will disperse pollutants. Therefore, AQI levels will be Good statewide. Friday, light to moderate northwesterly winds behind the departing system will keep pollutants well dispersed, yielding Good AQI levels throughout Louisiana. Saturday, in the southeastern portion of the state, lighter winds will reduce pollutant dispersion. In addition, mostly sunny skies will aid ozone formation. These conditions will lead to low-Moderate AQI levels in Baton Rouge. Throughout the rest of the state, light to moderate southwesterly winds will disperse pollutants, keeping AQI levels Good.
