Forecast Discussion: Thursday and Friday, surface high pressure will build over Louisiana, causing winds to diminish and reducing pollutant dispersion. In addition, partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper-80s to low-90s will enhance ozone formation. Therefore, despite scattered showers and thunderstorms dispersing some pollutants, AQI levels will be low-Moderate across much of the state on both days. Saturday, light to moderate east-southeasterly winds will disperse some pollutants; however, sunny and warm conditions will continue to support ozone formation. These weather conditions, combined with pollutant carryover from previous days, will yield Moderate AQI levels statewide. |
