Forecast Discussion: The Upstate zone may finish at Code Yellow, while all other zones should finish at Code Green for ground-level ozone this Friday afternoon. The cold front that went through most of the Palmetto State should be stationary over the southern part of the state on Saturday. Rain chances should exist near and to the south of the frontal boundary under warm and humid conditions. North of the front, primarily in the Upstate and Catawba regions, should be sunny and drier. Thus, the Upstate zone has been given a Code Yellow forecast. The CSRA zone has been forecast at Code Yellow for the possibility of some local urban pluming and recirculation of ozone precursors near the stalled frontal boundary. The other zones should remain at Code Green for Saturday.
