Forecast Discussion: High pressure moving in from the west today will gradually calm northwesterly winds and keep air quality levels in the middle Code GREEN range. After a chilly start to Monday with high pressure overhead generating some radiational cooling overnight, the aforementioned high pressure ridge slides offshore during the day, allowing for enough warming to keep ozone and particulate matter levels in the middle Code GREEN range. A dry cold front passes through the area Monday evening into Tuesday morning, allowing additional cleaner air from the northwest to move in and cause air quality levels to hover around the low to middle Code GREEN range. Another high pressure ridge bulding in from the west behind the dry front should keep air quality levels in the low Code GREEN range on Wednesday. (Payne)
