Forecast Discussion: Today, surface high pressure moving into the northern Plains will generate gusty northwesterly winds in Rochester, dispersing pollutants and yielding Good AQI levels. Tomorrow, as surface high pressure moves over Minnesota, winds will diminish in the Rochester area, reducing pollutant dispersion. As a result, AQI levels will be low-Moderate. Saturday, southerly winds ahead of an approaching low-pressure system will bring pollutants and moisture into southeastern Minnesota, aiding particle formation and resulting in low-Moderate AQI levels. Sunday, as the low-pressure system moves east and high pressure moves in from the west, light to moderate northerly winds will disperse pollutants in the Rochester area, leading to Good AQI levels. Monday, a low-pressure system moving through Minnesota will produce moderate west-northwesterly winds in the Rochester area, dispersing pollutants and keeping AQI levels Good. Tuesday, surface high pressure over the northern Plains will produce light to moderate northerly winds in the Rochester area. These winds will disperse pollutants and bring clean air into the region, yielding Good AQI levels.
