Forecast Discussion: It will be an unsettled weekend for the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Saturday will be cool and less windy, with mostly sunny skies in the morning and increasing clouds in the afternoon. Particle concentrations will rise in response to light winds, but sufficient vertical mixing and an unmodified air mass will keep air quality in the Good range. Sunday will be slightly warmer but mostly cloudy and as a low pressure system moves by to the south. It should remain dry in Philadelphia, but light northeasterly winds and a period of stagnation in the morning will push particles into the Moderate range. There is a chance of scattered rain showers on Monday. Breezy northwesterly flow will ventilate the atmosphere and return air quality to the Good range. **Extended Forecast: Weak surface high pressure will build into the Mid-Atlantic region on Tuesday. Continued breezy winds will allow Good air quality to persist. -Huff
