Forecast Discussion: Winds will diminish on Friday but it will still be unseasonably cold. High pressure moving over the Mid-Atlantic region will promote mostly sunny skies for much of the day, with increasing clouds late as an Arctic front approaches. Although particle concentrations will increase in response to light winds, the very dry and clean air in place will prevent particles from rising out of the Good range. **Extended Forecast: The coldest air of the winter so far will surge into the Delaware Valley for the weekend. It will be bitterly cold both Saturday and Sunday, with high temperatures approximately 25 °F below average. Gusty winds on Saturday will create potentially dangerous wind chills. Winds will slacken on Sunday but it will remain brisk. Particle concentrations will bottom out in the lower end of the Good range on Saturday and rise slightly higher into the Good range on Sunday due to less atmospheric mixing. -Huff
